Why I Love Kentucky!
Why I Love Kentucky!
Owner at Equus Run Vineyards
I am a native Kentuckian and I love Kentucky because of the beauty and diversity of our Commonwealth. The strength of the Kentucky brand is known worldwide with its famous horses, bourbon trail, history, basketball and of course the beautiful Bluegrass landscape. I’m proud to call Kentucky my home and be a pioneer in our wine industry in Kentucky.”
University of Kentucky Head Basketball Coach
“Lexington is a great city to live and even better place to raise your family. It’s a neat place with all the things that are going on in a small-town atmosphere. There are 250,000 people, but it’s a small town atmosphere. You’ve got great shopping, great restaurants, a beautiful campus like ours at UK, rolling hills of horse farms and I hear some pretty good basketball. There is a little bit for everyone. The best part? The people here are really kind.”
Anne Sabatino Hardy
Executive Director of Horse Country
“I love that people are surprised by how much Kentucky has to offer - arts, music, food, spirits, and the friendliest people. We’re known for our horses and bourbon - members of Horse Country have hosted guests from 50 states and 18 countries - but there’s so much more to discover! I’ve lived in other states and countries, but this is always the place that’s my favorite.”
Owner at UBuildIt Lexington
Moving from Chicago almost 40 years ago I love Kentucky. No constant traffic jams, pollution or freezing winters. The life style here is much more laid back… not so much hustle and bustle! Add the horse races, Kentucky bourbon and the most beautiful farms anywhere… it’s an unbeatable combination.
Buffalo Trace Distillery - VIP Visitor Lead
“People come from all over the country and the world to visit Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY and to learn about the bourbon-making traditions that have been passed down here for generations. Because of our distinct four seasons and our limestone rich water, nowhere else can you make bourbon the way we do in Kentucky. Not only our natural resources, but our history and the story of bourbon have been so intertwined since before we even entered statehood. Kentucky is just a unique one-of-a-kind place –perfect for making bourbon.”
Linda Griffin Slagel
President at HighBridge Springs
“While I have never lived outside Kentucky for any extended amount of time I have been fortunate to travel quite a bit. It is always good to come home.
I think the horse and bourbon industries provide the state with unique qualities unlike other states. People from all over the world pass through the State because of these industries and contribute to quality of life in Kentucky. Great change of seasons to mark the time of year. Kentucky saying is true “if you don’t like the weather wait a couple of days”. Great place to live and work!”
