The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky is Lexington's premier art museum. It is located in the Singletary Center for the Arts and features artwork ranging from old masters to contemporary. The collection includes artwork from around the world from paintings, prints, sculptures and more. Admission to the permanent collection gallery is free. Traveling exhibition ticket prices vary.
When The Lyric Theatre was originally opened in 1948, it was a cultural hub of the Lexington community, hosting concerts, fashion shows, plays and much more. With its re-opening in 2010, The Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center celebrates Lexington's roots with events and programming commemorating the rich heritage and history. Situated entirely inside the old barrel house building of the former James E. Pepper distillery - hence the name - the Barrel House Distillery is one of the oldest modern craft distilleries, rapidly approaching its tenth year of operation.
